| Catholic education has a strong
legacy of academic excellence throughout our nation’s history.
Today, Catholic schools continue that commitment to a strong academic
background. At the same time they instill in our children a strong
faith in God, a respect for civic responsibility and a moral foundation
to take up the challenges of living as adults in an ever increasing
complex world.
Since 1889, when the Benedictine Sisters opened
St. Martin’s Academy, dedicated educators in the Catholic
tradition have made enormous contributions to academic excellence
and human development in western South Dakota. The Rapid City Catholic
School System, with over 700 students, proudly carries on that legacy
in our day.
“The Endowment for Excellence in Education”
campaign is dedicated to securing and enhancing the future of the
Rapid City Catholic School System. The establishment of a permanent
endowment through a capital campaign has the following goals:
- To recruit and retain dedicated faculty and staff through
competitive salaries and benefits
- To ensure that our schools remain affordable for Catholic
families and for others sharing our values by providing more
scholarships and financial aid.
- To update, modernize and expand our facilities in a way that
addresses the present and future needs of our school system.
We ask your generous support in funding the Endowment
for Excellence in Education. We ask for your commitment to the goals
of the campaign. The legacy of Catholic education we have inherited
testifies to the sacrifice and foresight of so many who understood
the importance of investing in our young people. We invite you to
join that proud legacy by making a sacrificial investment in the
children of today and tomorrow.
Your gift, like those of the past, will make a difference.
