AdvancEd / North Central Accreditation
In the Fall of 2006, Dr. Angie Koppang discussed the AdvancED process at the System’s Change Conference in Chamberlin, SD. Eleven RCCSS representatives attended, and a leadership team was created to begin the accreditation process. According to their website, AdvancED creates the world's largest education community, representing 27,000 public and private schools and districts across the United States and in 65 countries worldwide, educating 15 million students. Founded in 1895, NCA CASI accredits over 8,500 public and private schools in 19 states. Dr. Koppang assessed our system readiness and presented information to the faculty and staff in the spring of 2007.
On November 15-18, 2009 a visiting body of six professional educators assessed our system for certification. During the review the QAR team interviewed members of our system including staff and faculty, students, board members, parents, and community stakeholders. RCCSS is grateful for the participation and professionalism invested in the QAR visit.
